Stetson Setalla is a son of noted potter Pauline Setalla and the brother of Dee Setalla and Gwen Setalla. This large open bowl is painted with a classic Hopi-Tewa bird along with stylized bird wings and bird tail. There is a deep red and a brown clay used to highlight the bird along with the black bee-weed. The bowl is traditionally fired to create the blushes on the surface. It is signed on the back “S. Setalla” and rain cloud.
