Mary Lewis was a daughter of noted potter Lucy M. Lewis.  She was never as prolific as her sisters Emma, Dolores, and Carmel. The plate has a single large fineline star as the design.  It is tightly painted and fills up the space of the plate.  The rim of the plate has corrugated or impressed designs.  They are highlighted with red clay.  It is signed on the back, “Mary D. Lewis”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
