This is a classic Kewa style storage jar by Robert Tenorio.  The jar is painted with wild spinach (black) on a red clay slip base.  The jar has a round shoulder with a short neck. Around the neck is a star pattern while around the base is a leaf design. In the center are four sections.  Three have a different style of deer while the fourth has a Kewa style bird.  The jar was traditionally fired outdoors.  The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Robert Tenorio, Kewa”.  It was made in 2000.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
