This is a small open bowl. It is coil built and painted with bee-weed (black) and traditionally fired. The piece is painted on the rim and the inside. The outside rim has four small extrusions or “nubs”, which are often seen in the 1920-30 period of both Hopi and pueblo pottery. The bowl has cloud designs on the outside. The inside of the bowl has a double eagle tail and bird wing designs. It was traditionally fired to create the blushes on the surface. It is unsigned but in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
