This is a miniature wedding vase by Reyes Gachupin (1908-1991). Reyes was a sister of Trinidad Medina and her first husband was Juanito Moquino (1904-1932). She later married James Pino (1916-1998). This miniature wedding vase has a Zia bird on each side. There are additional clouds and rain designs. The base is polished red and signed, “R. Gachupin. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

Diana Pino Lucero (b. 1958) learned to make pottery from her mother Vicentita Pino. She is known for her traditional style of Zia pottery. This small plate is made from native clay and painted with native clay slips. The front has a classic feather design along with rain clouds. The back is fully polished. It is signed, “D. P. Lucero”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
