This is a large multi-color seedpot by Rosemary Lonewolf. She learned to make pottery from her father, Joseph Lonewolf. This piece is fully polished and on the top it is etched with a hummingbird and feather pattern. Around the sides are five hummingbirds, numerous flowers, and one dragonfly. Note the complexity of the deisgn and the various layers she has etched into the clay. The background area where the clay has been etched away are a series of small circles, which Rosemary only made for a while. All the various colors are different clay slips. which are added after the firing. The seedpot is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Apple Blossom”. While Rosemary no longer makes many traditional-style pieces of pottery, her miniatures remain a classic!
