Larson Goldtooth (b. 1971) is a cousin of Mark Tahbo, who taught him to make pottery.  He has become well-known for his clay figures.  Each piece is made from native clay, coil-built, stone polished, and painted with clay slips and bee-weed (black).  Each figure is distinctive in form and style.  This figure has a painted shirt and moccasins.  Note how the face is carved around the edges.  The piece was traditionally fired to create the blushes on the surface.  It is signed, “Larson”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
