Sharon Naranjo Garcia (b. 1951) is a granddaughter of Christina Naranjo. She learned to make pottery from her grandmother and is known for her traditional style of pottery. This is wide jar that has a “gourd” design. The jar has a round shoulder and eight gourd intentions. The intentions are pushed into the clay and are meant to represent the gourds that are used when smoothing out the inside of the clay vessel. The jar is fully polished red with the inside of the neck polished tan. It was fired a deep red coloration. It is signed on the bottom, “Sharon Naranjo-Garcia”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. There is a second place ribbon from the 2023 Santa Fe Indian Market.
