This is a charming small bowl by Mary Ann Hampton.  She was known for her painted and corrugated pottery. This seedpot piece is coil built and painted with bee-weed (black).  It has a classic lightning design painted onto the surface.  It was traditionally fired, so there is some slight color variation from the fire.  The seedpot is signed on the bottom, “Mary Ann Hampton”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
