Robert Vigil learned to make pottery from Lonnie Vigil and Virginia Gutierrez.  Each piece is coil made with micaceous clay and micaceous clay slipped.  This piece was traditionally fired to create the coloration.  The jar has a round shoulder and a fluted rim.  The jar has a carved lizard on one side.  It is traditionally fired to create the blushes on the surface.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Robert Vigil, Nambe”.
