Stella Shutiva was renowned for her corrugated pottery.  Her style was inspired by pre-historic style corrugated vessels and a continuation of the pottery by her mother, Jessie Garcia.  This is a classic corrugated jar with a round shoulder and elongated neck.  There are handles on the sides in the shapes of animals.  They are painted with bee-weed.  The designs are mountain and rain patterns.  The piece is signed, “S. Shutiva”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
