Lorenzo Gonzales was a brother of potter Blue Corn and the father of John Gonzales, Marie Gonzales, and Robert Gonzales. This is one of his few traditional polished pieces. The jar is polished with a cream colored clay and painted with 32 feathers. The end of each feather is slipped red. The jar was traditionally fired. It is signed in the clay, “Lorenzo”. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
