This is a large and creative plate by Rose Chino Garcia. She was a daughter of noted potter Marie Z. Chino. This piece two MImbres style parrots in the center.  The plate is made from native clay and painted with bee-weed and clay slips for the red.  The parrots are surrounded by rain and lightning designs on the rim.  The plate was traditionally fired.  It is signed on the back, “Rose Chino”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
