Dolores Lewis is a daughter of renowned potter Lucy M. Lewis.  Dolores is known for use of classic Acoma and Mimbres designs in her pottery.  This is a large canteen that is round in shape.  The back is slipped red, and the front is painted with two Mimbres fish along with fine-line water and cloud designs.  The canteen is signed on the back in the clay, “Dolores Lewis” and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  While Dolores makes little pottery today, work remains some of the classic traditional pottery of Acoma pueblo.
