This is an asymmetric jar by Susan Folwell.  It is coil-built and has a creative shape that provides a lot of surface design.  The jar has both polished and matte surfaces.  The neck of the jar is indented and the rim is asymmetric in shape.  There are etched birds in front of the rising moon.  Near the base the stars are created by by the Folwell family “x’s”.  Susan said the circles with the horizontal lines etched into them are the moon in its various phases.  The jar is polished a striking gray-brown.  It is signed, “Susan Folwell”.
