This is a classic jar by Robert Patricio. The piece is round in shape and has a corrugated rim. The style of the rim is created by adding an additional piece of clay and then impressing it with a design. The bowl is painted with his classic “sunset lightning” pattern. It is a complexand colorful design with rain and lightning patterns encircling the jar.  There are two different colors of red as well as the bee-weed used to paint the designs.  The seedpot is signed on the bottom, “R.  M.  Patricio”.  The jar is a striking extension of his artistry in clay and continues the amazing Acoma legacy.  Robert is one of the few artists who has won “Best of Pottery” at Santa Fe Indian Market two times, most recently in 2022.
