Dianna Tahbo was known for her tightly painted pottery and especially her beautiful miniatures. This piece is from 2003. Dianna learned to make pottery from her brother, Mark Tahbo. This is a small seed bowl that is painted with four moths as the design. The moths were a revival of the work by their great-great-grandmother Grace Chapella. There are both male and female moths alternating on the top of the bowl. Looking down from the top is a star design. The bowl was traditionally fired so there are blushes on the surface. It is signed on the bottom, “Dianna Tahbo”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
