Tso, Jr., Damon – Low Shoulder Melon Jar with Ribbon

5"w x 2.75"h

$ 350.00

Damon Tso, Jr., is a self-taught potter.  He began making pottery in 2003 and each piece is hand-built and made from native clay that he sources from near his home in Buffalo Springs, New Mexico.  This jar has a low shoulder and sloping sides.  There are 16 overlapping melon ribs.  Each rib is pushed out from the inside and has a sharp edge that overlaps to the rib next to it.  The jar was traditionally fired and then covered with pinon-pitch after the firing.   It is signed, “Damon Tso, Jr.” on the bottom.  The jar has a Second Place ribbon from the 2024 Gallup Ceremonials.
