Kaa Folwell is one of the exciting young potters working today. This bowl is coil-built from native clay and the surface is painted in the  background black/blue/white with dark gray designs.  The design is red clay. The piece is entitled, “When the Rains Come,” and it is meant to look like when it rains and the water runs across the dry earth.  The design becomes an “op-art” that makes you want to reach out and touch the surface!  The piece is a striking balance of color, form, and design.  It is signed, “Kaa”.
