This is one of the largest pieces we have had by Mary Ann Hampton. She was known for her painted and corrugated pottery. This seedpot is coil-built and painted with bee weed (black). It has ten rows of interlocking flowers that are small at the rim and larger at the shoulder. It is tightly painted in a classic shape! The seedpot is signed on the bottom, “Mary Ann Hampton”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.

Mary Ann Hampton was a daughter of Santiago and Aurelia Sarracino Pasqual. While never a prolific potter, she was known for her delicately painted pottery vessels, primarily in the 1970s and '80s.
