Dorothy Ami is known for her traditional style of Hopi pottery.  This jar is coil-built and stone polished.  It has four birds painted on the top of the shoulder.  Around the side are swirling cloud and rain designs.  The bowl was painted with bee-weed and clay slips.  It was traditionally fired to create the various blushes on the surface.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed on the bottom, “Dorothy Ami”.
