Jaycee Nahohai is a son of noted potters Randy Nahohai and Rowena Him. He is a grandson of noted Zuni potter Josephine Nahohai. Jaycee is known for his figurative pottery, especially his owls. This jar is painted on the outside. There are three realistic style frogs. Around them are stylized dragonflies and a mountain scene in the background. It is patined with clay slips and mica. The frogs definitely make you smile! It is signed on the bottom, “J. Nahohai”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

Jaycee Nahohai is a son of noted potters Randy Nahohai and Rowena Him. He is a grandson of noted Zuni potter Josephine Nahohai. Jaycee is known for his figurative pottery, especially his owls. This large owl is made from Zuni clay and paitned with clay slips and mica. The owl is painted with a series of small, textural circles. It is much in the style of his uncle Milford and grandmother Josephine. The shape is exceptional. Jaycee also made a clay necklace that goes on the owl. The detail of the clay beads and the “shell” pendant are amazing! It is signed on the bottom, “J. Nahohai”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
