Blue Corn was one of the great innovative San Ildefonso potters of the late 1900s.  This is a classic small jar that is fully polished with a gray-white clay.  It is painted with four different colors of clay.  The designs are a series of bird tails and lightning designs.  It is a striking and colorful jar! It was traditionally fired to a rich, glassy coloration.  It is signed on the bottom, “Blue Corn”.  It is from the 1970s, and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
