13.25"w x 10"h

$ 1,800.00

Fawn Garcia Navasie (b. 1959) is also known as “Little Fawn”.  She is a daughter of Eunice “Fawn” Navasie and a sister of Dawn and Dolly Navasie.  This large jar is coil-built and stone polished. The jar has a round shoulder and a short neck.  It is painted with bee-weed (black) and highlighted with polished red areas.  The design has four large swirling birds.  Above each bird is a wing design and additional cloud designs around the neck.  The imagery is detailed and fits the flowing shape of the jar!  The piece was traditionally fired so there are blushes on the surface.  It is signed on the bottom, “Fawn” with a deer track.  This is how she signed her pieces after her mother, Eunice “Fawn” Navasie (1920-1992) passed away.
