Emerson Ami is the husband of noted potter, Dorothy Ami. He is known for his innovative designs on Hopi-Tewa pottery.  This seed jar has a low shoulder and a rounded top.  There is an eagle tail design painted on the top of the piece.  Near the base are bird and cloud patterns.  The piece was traditionally fired to create intense blushes on the surface.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed on the bottom, “Emerson Ami”.
