Reva Ami-Nampeyo is a great-granddaughter of Nampeyo of Hano and a granddaughter of Fannie Nampeyo. Her father, Harold Polacca, was a son of Fannie. She is a sister of noted potters Clinton Polacca and Vernica Polacca Nampeyo. This jar has a wide shoulder and an out-turned rim. The jar is painted with bee-weed and red clay slip. It has a traditional bat-wing design painted on the sides. The neck is slipped red. The jar is signed, “Reva Ami Nampeyo”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
