Andrews, Rita – Bowl with Geometric Designs

3.75"w x 2.5"h

$ 175.00

Rita Andrews (b. 1957) is from Sichomovi, First Mesa.  She is a granddaughter of Erma Tawyesva, a daughter of Reenna Andrews and the mother of Louvette, Curtis, and Po-Vee Andrews.  She began making pottery in the 1990s but this is the only piece of her pottery we have had in the gallery.  The bowl is made from native clay and it is painted with bee-weed and clay slips.  It has a series of geometric designs across the surface. The inside is also fully polished!  The bowl was traditionally fired.  It is signed, “Rita Andrews”.  It is excellent with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
