Mildred Antonio (b. 1937) is known for her traditional style Acoma pottery.  She is the mother of Melissa Antonio and the mother-in-law of Frederica Antonio.  Each piece is coil-built and painted with bee-weed (black) and additional clay slips.  This jar has a round shoulder and a short neck.  The jar is painted with traditional Acoma birds around the neck.  Below is a checkerboard pattern representing the cornfields.  The jar is signed, “M. Antonio”.
