Mildred Antonio (b. 1937) is known for her traditional style Acoma pottery. She is the mother of Melissa Antonio and the mother-in-law of Frederica Antonio. Each piece is coil-built and painted with bee-weed (black) and additional clay slips. This jar has a high shoulder and it is painted with interlocking butterflies. They encircle the entire piece. The jar is signed on the bottom, “M. Antonio.”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
