$ 1,100.00

Allen Aragon was born in Ganado, Arizona.  As a child, he would go each month to weaving auctions with his mother, an accomplished weaver. Surrounded by art, he became fascinated with the pottery that the Acoma women were bringing to sell.  Today, he creates exceptional miniature pottery inspired by ideas from Navajo, Hopi, and Acoma art.  This bowl is from 1994.  It is coil built and very tightly painted.  It is a larger piece of his pottery, as today he primarily makes highly detailed miniatures. The bowl has four highly detailed Yei figures.  They are separated by corn plants.  The detail and precision of the painting is striking!  The piece is signed on the bottom, “Allen Aragon”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
