Wanda Aragon (b. 1948) is a daughter of noted potter Frances Torivio. She is also known by her name in Acoma, Dzinats’ituwits’a. She is known for her traditional Acoma pottery that is coil built, and painted with bee-weed and clay slips for coloration. This is a thin-walled canteen. The handles are in the shape of bird’s heads. The front is painted with rain and lightning designs. The back has interlocking clouds. It is signed on the bottom, “W. Aragon”. it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
