Jane Baca (1919-2011) and her daughter Starr Tafoya (b. 1951) worked together on pottery for decades. Jane was a sister of Legoaria Tafoya and Pablita Velarde. Jane and Starr were known primarily for their figurative pottery. This is one of their clay animals. It is a standing bear that is fully polished. It is signed, “Jane and Starr”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
