WOW!  This is an exceptional wide bowl by Blue Corn.  She is certainly one of the most creative potters of her time with a varied use of clays and firing techniques to create her distinctive pottery.  This is one of her larger vessels from the 1970s.  It is exceptional in size, shape, and polish. The bowl has a round body and it is fully polished to a glassy shine.  Around the neck of the bowl are cloud patterns.  Around the side are 71 symmetrical feathers.  The use of the form and the turn of the feathers at the shoulder are a testament to the creativity of her pottery art. The bowl was traditionally fired to a glassy black coloration.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Blue Corn”.   It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It’s always exciting to see pieces this size by Blue Corn!
