Blue Corn – 12″ Oval Plate with 42 Feathers and Step Design (1970s)

Blue Corn was one of the great innovative San Ildefonso potters of the late 1900s.  This is an unusual plate that is oval in shape. The piece is fully polished on the front and most of the back.  It has a central square medallion with a step design.  Extending outwards are 42 feathers. The plate was fired a deep black coloration. It is signed on the back in the clay, “Blue Corn”.  It is from the 1970s, and it is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
