WOW!  This is a striking water jar by Blue Corn.  She is s certainly one of the most creative potters of her time with a varied use of clays and firing techniques to create her distinctive pottery. This is one of her tall polychrome pieces with a square neck. The neck is slipped with a brown/green micaceous clay. Around the shoulder, it is polished white with painted feathers. The vent, or end, of each feather, is slipped with green.  Below the shoulder is further polished white and then micaceous near the base. The jar is a striking combination of colors, textures (mica) and complex designs.  It is signed in the clay, “Blue Corn”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
