Blue Corn was one of the great innovative San Ildefonso potters of the late 1900s.  This is a classic small bowl that is fully polished whitish-gray.  It is painted with a water bug and five tadpoles. They are outlined in black and slipped highlighted with a green colored clay.  It was traditionally fired to a rich red coloration.  It is signed on the bottom, “Blue Corn”.  It is from the 1970s, and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
