Debbie Brown is the daughter of Sarah Garcia and granddaughter of Jessie Garcia (one of the Four Matriarchs of the Acoma Pueblo pottery families). She learned to make pottery from her mother and grandmother.  This is a massive water jar that is coil-built and then painted. The neck of the jar has five rows of corrugated triangular designs. The body of the ajr has four large heartline deer.  They are surrounded by clouds, rain, and plant designs.  It is a fully painted jar with a design that accentuates the classic form.  It is signed on the bottom, “Debbie G. Brown”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
