This is a creative jar by Linda Cain.  Linda is a daughter of Mary Cain and the mother of Tammy Garcia and Autumn Borts.  This jar has an elongated form with a low shoulder and a carved rim.  On one side there is a deeply carved jar with carved clouds as the design.  The surrounding area is matte.  The opposite side has another jar carved into the clay.  There is a carved and polished bird design on the top of the jar.  The surrounding area is matte.  With a jar on each side and the actual jar itself, there are “Three Jars”!  Note as well the multiple layers of carving on the piece.  The contrasting matte, polished, micaceous clay surfaces work well to distinguish the designs.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Linda Cain”.
