Denise Chavarria (b. 1959) is a daughter of noted potter Stella Chavarria and a granddaughter of Teresita Naranjo. Each piece is coil-built, carved, stone polished, and traditionally fired. This is a classic long-neck water jar shape. Around the shoulder, the jar is carved with an avanyu. The neck of the jar is plain and highly polished. The jar was fired a deep red coloration. It is signed on the bottom, “Denise Chavarria”.
