Chee, Johnathan – “Navajo Woman and Horse” Two Clay Figures

Woman in Wagon: 4" long Horse: 4.5"long

$ 200.00

Jonathan Chee is married to Elizabeth Manygoats and learned to make pottery from her mother, Betty Manygoats.  While he no longer makes pottery, he was known for his folk art animals, and figures.  This is a Navajo woman in a buckboard wagon.  She has leather reins and is being pulled by the horse.  The horse is a separate piece.  Both are traditionally fired and then painted and covered in pinon pitch.  Both are signed, “JC” and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
