Chilly, Nancy Ann – 8″ Tall Jar with Six Yei Figures and Cloud Designs

5.25"w x 8"h

$ 300.00

This is a tall incised bowl by Nancy Ann Chilly. Nancy is one of the few Navajo pottery working today in a traditional style.  Her pieces are coil-built, incised, and traditionally fired.  Nancy is from the Four Corners Area on the Navajo Reservation.  This tall jar has a cloud pattern around the rim.  There are six elongated Yei figures incised into the clay.  They are each highly detailed and holding a bow.  Near the base are mountain designs.  The jar was traditionally fired, then painted, then covered in pinon pitch in the traditional manner. It is signed, “NAC” on the bottom.
