Alicia Kelsey Chino (b. 1979) is a daughter of noted potter Darla Davis and a granddaughter of Rachel JWhite.  She learned to make pottery from her mother.  She is known for her traditional style designs.  This is one of the largest seedpots we have had from her.  It is is fully painted on the top and bottom with a checkerboard “basket weave” design.  The little square are brown, black, or white.  The piece has a complex fine-line design in the center on the top. The design is complex and visually striking.  It is signed on the bottom, “A. Chino”.
