Chino, Brian – Large Fine-line Starburst Seedpot (1990’s)

8.5"w x 3.5"h

$ 800.00

Brian Chino was a son of noted potter Edna Chino and a brother of Jay Vallo and Corrine Chino. He began making pottery in 1988. In less than ten years, he made a name for himself as a potter renowned for very tightly painted miniatures.  This is a large seedpot that is coil-built with native clay and it has a narrow base and sharp shoulder.  The entire surface is fully painted with bee-weed.  There is a large starburst on the top with more on the side and bottom.  Stunning!   His work was always exceptional for the size and this is a larger piece of his pottery.  This piece is signed, “B. Chino” on the bottom.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
