This a classic water jar by Mary Chino (b. 1950).  The jar is made from native clay and it is coil-built and painted with bee-weed and clay slips. The jar has a mountain and cloud design near the neck and base. Around the center is a classic rain pattern.  The jar was traditionally fired to create the coloration on the surface.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “M. Chino”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
