This is an intricately painted jar by Rose Chino Garcia. She was a daughter of noted potter Marie Z. Chino. This piece has straight sides and reveals the entire design.  It is her version of the classic lightning pattern.  Note all the additional cloud and rain designs with the lightning.  The imagery is accentuated by the thin lines.  The piece is painted with bee-weed (black). The bowl was traditionally fired.  It is signed on the bottom, “Rose Chino”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
