This is a charming small jar by Rose Chino Garcia. She was a daughter of noted potter Marie Z. Chino. This piece is coil-built and has a round body and sloping neck.  The jar has three rows of design painted with bee-weed (black). They are alternating ants and rain designs.  It is a creative use of classic fine-line and Mimbres imagery!   This jar is very thin-walled and it was traditionally fired.  It is signed on the bottom, “Rose Chino”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
