Randall (Randy) Chitto (Choctaw) studied pottery beginning in 1980 at The Institue of American Indian Arts in Satna Fe under the instruction of Otellie Loloma. He created his distinctive style of storyteller and figurative pottery. This is one of his classic clay turtle figures. The figure is fired black and is holding a spear and has a leather bundle. It is signed on the bottom and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

The turtle is holding a heart that is painted red. It is signed on the bottom and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
