$ 1,000.00

Buffy Cordero Suina (b. 1969) is a granddaughter of Helen Cordero and a daughter of George Cordero.  She learned to make pottery from her grandmother and father.  Her pieces were distinctive and creative in style and form.  She stopped making pottery after Helen Cordero passed away in 1994.  This figure is one of her classic drummers. The drumming is sitting cross-leged with a drum and child on his lap.  He is holding a drum mallet that is made from wood and cloth.  The piece is painted with clay slips.  It is signed on the bottom, “Buffy Cordero Suina”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
