Buffy Cordero Suina (b. 1969) is a granddaughter of Helen Cordero and a daughter of George Cordero.  She learned to make pottery from her grandmother and father.  Her pieces were distinctive and creative in style and form.  She stopped making pottery after Helen Cordero passed away in 1994.  This figure is one of her more intricate and complex pieces.  It is a female storyteller with four kids sitting on her skirt.  Each of the children is different in style.  The blouse of the figure is painted with flowers. There is a dog on the back of her skirt!  It is signed on the bottom, “Buffy Cordero Suina”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
