Coriz, Ione – Bird Bowl
Ione Coriz (b. 1973) is a daughter of noted potters Arthur and Hilda Coriz and a nice of Robert Tenorio. She is known for her traditional Santo Domingo (Kewa) pottery. This bowl has a bird head and tail. It is charming with just a slight turn to the head of the bird. The body of the bowl is painted with bee-weed (black) and has traditional plant designs. The bowl is red on the inside. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Ione Coriz”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
